How to Get the Most from Your Drugstore Pharmacy

It’s not hard to get your medicine at your local drugstore.

In fact, the pharmacy is the first place that most of us visit after school, says Dr. Richard T. Ralston, a family physician and chief medical officer of the American College of Physicians.

He points to the number of pharmacies across the country as evidence of how much medicine we have access to.

“The number one reason to go to the pharmacy as an adult is because you can get your prescription filled,” Ralstein says.

And because there are so many available, you don’t have to worry about missing your next dose or missing your scheduled appointment.

“It’s a good opportunity for people to get their prescriptions filled and have them delivered to their home,” he says.

“And when you get your first dose of medicine, it’s like a real medicine.”

And when you’re ready to shop, here are some common questions you should ask when you visit a drugstore: How many hours are there in the day?
